Rebecca Bushell, my great-great-grandmother, was born in 1823 in Banbury, Oxfordshire, to Elizabeth and Thomas. She married Thomas Boulter on 31 August 1845 in St Pancras, Middlesex. They had eight children in 14 years.

Rebecca was baptised on 9 April 1823, probably at St Mary’s, which was near her family’s home on Bridge Street.

Rebecca’s mother, Elizabeth (family name unknown), died when Rebecca was 12. By 1841, at 15, Rebecca was living and working in a bakery on Castle Street in Banbury.

Before 1845, Rebecca moved to London. She married Thomas Boulter, a widower and fruiterer, and lived on Albany Street in St Pancras.

The 1861 census lists Rebecca living in Southampton at 2 and 3 Canute Road with her husband and seven children. Later that year, her eighth child was born at home.

There is no record of her death, but the 1871 Census shows that Thomas was now a widower.
